you need to charge by the day....everyone i know charges by the day. I pay 12.00 a day per child....that is very reasonable. Most people who choose to let a babysitter watch their children are trying to escape the high cost of day care centers...who charge way to much. 7 dollars is outrageous!

I would charge $10 an hour, especially since you will be babysitting two children. Since they are older and don't require changing diapers and feeding a bottle, its a reasonable price.

If you're ever babysitting smaller children though, you should charge $15-20 an hour because they require strict supervision.

If you are expected to take the children out during your time taking care of them though, the mother should provide you with the money for the expenses too. Hope this helps.

Depends on where you live(as in what state). Also depends on how old you are if you are a teenager then yeah 7 is propbably ok, if you are older and probably gonna have to cook to feed the kids and give snacks and what not, then maybe up to $10 or if you are gonna have the kids all day maybe just a flat rate.

Depends on where she works if she is single etc.. If she is single and has a low wage paying job then charge her less. What do you normally do with your day? If you just sit around then why charge alot when she might really need the help. On ther other hand if she is loaded then charge her *** alot. Find out info first then proceed.

It really depends on what area you live in. Where I am at, the going rate is about $3 an hour per child.

I started baby sitting awhile ago. 7 is acually fine! I go for 6, and after a while it really adds up! And don't worry, its not at all to much. One daycare area charges 20! Wow.

Depends on how old you are, really. I've paid $10 or more for college age kids.

Why would you sit for a strange lady you've never met for kids you've never met. You might have just agreed to sit for Bart Simpson (or worse)!

Depends on your age and experience and creditials. If you are a teen (which you sound like) $7-8 dollars sounds right. A word of advice: ask the lady: "May I ask who referred me to you?" If she wants to know why you can say: "I would like to thank them for the reference." But it also gives you the oppertunity to "check" her out.
