sorry to hear that you lost your baby, it must be hard for you at the moment, your periods probably will be all over the place for a while, let you body settle down a bit.

They way I found out I was ovulating is a bit gross, so if you dont like gross stuff, dont read on.

You know that as a woman, we all get discharge at different times through the month, sometimes a bit, sometimes a lot, runny, sticky etc. (told you it was gross!)

Well, when you ovulate, the discharge becomes very stringy and stretchy, if you can pinch it between your forefinger and thumb, pull your finger and thumb apart and it stays pretty much put, just stretches a bit, you are probably ovulating. If you can gently poke it with your other hand and its stays put, you are probably ovulating.

I tried this method, checking my discharge every day and as soon as it was this consistency, we got down to the dirty stuff and got pregnant first time.

This also worked for two other friends as well, so give it a go. Its free, only takes a few seconds, and you dont have too pee on a stick and wory of youve peed enough like you do with ovulation kits.

Generally, your ovulation date is about day 14 after the first day of your period but this is only an average, not all women have a 28 day cycle, so it may take a few months to let your body settle and get into your normal rythmn.

Try looking at www.babycentre.co.uk. It has great advice, there are message boards for everything about getting pregnant, being pregant etc.

Hope everything works out ok for you,

Ok, this is a bit gross, but it worked for me and I got pregnant first time we tried. You need to check you vaginal mucus every day. You will find its usually runny, but it changes through the month. When you are ovulating, it becomes quite thick, so you can pinch it between thumb and forefinger, and it will stretch between the two and hold its position well. Dont bother with the temperature method, its hard to judge correctly, as your temp goes up and down too much. I found it really hard to work it out as my morning temperature varied by so much. You can also buy ovulation test sticks, but they are expensive and you only get 7 sticks, so you do need to know roughly when you are ovulating, otherwise you will spend a fortune on the kits. Good luck!

usually 12- 14 days before your period. However it can be as short as 10 days before. Anything less than 10 days could be considered a defective luetal phase.

I feel my ovulation so I know when it happens. Do you ever get slight pulling pain, or maybe some yellow-reddish discharge mid cycle? A very good test is cervical mucus. It should be like egg white / stretch between the fingers.

Sperm can live for up to 5 days in the right conditions, so if you try to conceive before your egg is released you will ensure that sperm are waiting for it to pop out !

Good luck.

Why don't you hand a urine sample into your doctor who will do test for free? (in the UK) Some pharmacies also offer free pregnancy tests. It sounds like you had a period though, your cycle may not be completely regular yet since your miscarriage. I think it is difficult to know when you ovulate unless you have a regular cycle, then it is usually 14 days before the first day of your last period. Some women notice pain in their ovary when you are ovulating or a change in vaginal discharge. It may be worth looking out for these signs for furture reference. Good luck.

Ovulation happens 14 days BEFORE your period is due. So count back 14 days from when you starting bleeding and that when you ovulated, but remember that you have to have sex the day before that for the sperm to get ready for the egg to be released.

Get to the doctor and ask him/her if they can give you a bloodtest. This will tell you firstly if u do indeed ovulate and on what day it occurs.

Rest assured after you know you can then work around the dates and know how long your cycle is. Any other problems associated with your periods can be discussed with him also..

When you can't get pregnant, and things look good from the outside, it can be extremely frustrating. Anyway this is a great method to get pregnant: https://tr.im/522Eq
The first thing to consider is how long have you been trying. About 80% of couples will get pregnant after six months of trying, and about 90% will be pregnant after 12 months of trying to get pregnant
