I firmly believe that if you can spread your legs and have fun then you should be able to do the right thing and raise the child. Is it because our society likes pushing the EASY button to get out of our screwups??

Yes, it is the easy button idea. Noone is made to take responsibilty for their actions anymore. Our society wants to baby everyone and not hurt anyones feelings. If you do something wrong its not your fault anymore.

Is this true of life period? Society like pushing the easy button to get out of screwups? No matter what humans will always put themselves in situations that somebody won't like, abortion, abusive husband/wives, teen pregency etc. We as a society can only do so much to try to curb these things, but I don't think it will ever stop.

I don't believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control however I do believe that a woman should have the right to choose. There are over 1 million abortions performed here in the US, if we didn't have abortions and have the mothers choose to keep their baby and half gave them up what would we do? Babies tend to get adopted rather fast but the longer they are "on the market" the less likely it is that they'll get adopted. The foster care system is already overworked as it is, what do you supoose we do when that already overburden system gets even more overburdened?

Most foster kids turn to a life of crime adding to the burden of overcrowded prisons, its a vicious cycle. All the prolifers want to do is make abortions illegal, they have no answers for the problems this would then create and to top it all off is the Catholic Curch's ban on birth control, Bush and the Reublicans trying to limit a woman's access to birth control, and the FDA trying to ban RU 486 as an OTC medicine. All of which leads to MORE unwanted pregancies. Their answer to that? Don't have sex, like that would ever happen!

I totally agree with you!!! Be responsible and grow up! Instead, our society has been given the option of killing an innocent child who is the one being "punished" so to speak for their "parents" irresponsibility!

And as far as rape goes, or anything else, the child still should not have to be murdered, there are so many couples out there waiting to adopt a child because they cant have their own.
And not that Im being heartless, but, there are some cases where rapes could have been avoided, it was a matter of making the wrong choice and being some where, where you knew you shouldnt have been.

My best friend was drugged and raped in a bathroom and got pregnant. She chose to have an abortion, she should not forced to put her life on hold and go through a pregnancy and birth, as she did not choose to be raped that night. Is this what you call "spreading your legs and having fun"? Why should she have to pay the price for what that coward did to her? Same thing with incest? You think they should have to have the babies too? Get informed, get an open mind, and then come back and stand on your soap box. Thank you.

I have taken responsibility for all of mine. Its not every one that takes the easy way out. As far as abortions are concerned, how can you ask a rape Victim. to keep a pregnancy that was forced on her? I think that in certain situations society shouldn't be allowed to dictate whats right for a woman.

they do it because they are self fish and can't imagine doing the right thing. they are cowards who feel they cannot give the child a chance. even giving the baby to a deserving family would be to much to ask from these people..
the ONLY reason that i could ever see it being a mandatory termination is if it will seriously kill you to have the child, or if you were raped and contracted some disease. but i don't think it's right to kill a innocent soul.

i think you all sound stupid, well not all of you, there are just some people in here with such closed minds that it really irritates me. who are any of you to sit around deciding when its right. and then judge someone with whatever you have come up with is a good reason to do it. either its ok or it isn't, if someone got raped that makes it ok to have an abortion. yeah sure it wasn't their fault, but since it wasn't their fault than its ok to kill a baby. and so what if someone did decide to do that. raped or not. that's why everyone has free will, and none of your opinions really matter, just like mine doesn't really matter either.
