i am a foreign student in the usa for four years, and those years have been the most boring of my life as far as socializing is concerned. i'm a guy who like to have some crazy fun and enjoy my time sometime carelessly. i used to have my crew of friends but they all stayed back home, now here i am with my family but i feel like i'm missing a lot of fun being alone. i've tried to make friends with some acquaintances but it didn't seem to work out. i am not desperate but i'd like to bring some salsa to my life now. i'm 22 and even though my professional and educational lives are going on the right track, i'm just lonely.
can anyone help me get back to the light of fun, and if anyone is interested in corresponding, i am also up for it.
thank you for your interests and advices.

Maybe get involved in some sports or clubs. If you don't mind online friends, try a chat room. Good luck to you! You seem like a really nice guy!

Well, I am from the USA but I have a lot of friends from South America. They are all currently in school also. But we all go out on the weekends and have fun! We go salsa dancing or just bar hopping. Whatever we do it's fun! What you need to do is find some people near you that are also from different countries and socialize with them. You will meet a lot of Americans that way too!

Why don't you try some activitites that makes you come into contact with people. Like working out for example is a fun way to meet other people and have some communication in a casual way. Also, play sports. I know I joined city league softball and I have many close friends now because of it. It's usually 1-2 nights a week. I'm sure this will be a good way to make friends, which allows you to meet their friends...etc.

Have you tried just going out to a club or something? You can meet lots of fun-loving people there.

First, where do you stay? Second, no you are not desperate, you just haven't found anyone that is on your level yet. Keep looking, most likely they will find you. Good luck, wish you were here.

Stop whining and makind excuses. Pick up a hobby, sport or anything that you enjoying doing just b/c you enjoy doing it. Once you do this- youll encounter other people who share similiar interests.

Don't focus on people - focus on the ACTIVITIES - GO to those activities, and THERE you will find the PEOPLE.

Example - I love hiking - I joined (East Coast) the Appalachian Mountain Club - (they have singles events).

Think about the things you want - and find places, preferably CLUBS and associations that DO IT, and join.
