For those that think I am feeding him too much, your wrong dont judge me just answer the question if you can! He has a bowel disorder that makes him a big lad, he lives on fish and veg mainly with the odd treat thrown in..... think about things before you type!

Do try TKmax, have the same problems with my bigger/taller than average son and this is the only store offering variety of sizes as well as high fashion without burning the holes in your pockets - my son is very choosy and I have already saved a fortune by going there!

Look for Husky jeans. Penney's and Sears used to carry them but I'd search on-line for options. Even on ebay perhaps.
My son is well grown now and 7 feet tall, but you wouldn't believe how hard it was to dress that kid! Sweats a lot of the time, or athletic shorts, and jeans or khaki's that had elastic in the back of the waist were good choices too.
My first suggestion: Learn to hem a pair of pants by hand or with a sewing machine. Will save you more money than you can imagine. Also saves so much time as you just fit the waist and torso, 'cause length (as long as they are long enough) ceases to be an issue. This also makes it much easier to get your son whatever is 'cool' at the moment so he doesn't feel left out or odd. If he doesn't care about that yet, he will soon! Always wash first before hemming though so they don't shrink and become too short. If you leave a nice deep hem - like 4 inches - you can lengthen as he grows taller but his waist stays the same. Sooner or later that will actually happen I assure you!

Ask around and find a good seamstress. They could make a sloper or master pattern for your son and make jeans and slacks that fit him well. As another respondent said, buy the men's jeans. You can always have the length taken off. Look for the fit. There are several cuts of jeans...get the ones that look best for his build. Overalls are another thing that kids wear well. They are more forgiving for a larger waist size and have all kinds of pockets for stuff kids like to haul around. They can be shortened (make sure the legs are wide, that's what the kids like) during summer and worn over sleeveless shirts or with their full length in winter over a turtle neck or flannel shirt.

Since your son is 9 years old, I'm predicting from what you say he can fit into a 12 or 13 year olds clothes. Try West49 or boathouse, if you hae a jean machine or a store like that try there. He can always wear adult jeans and get them hemmed.

Good luck

It would help if you could include his waist and leg size. Some brand names might be able to help you with custom made jeans.

Buy adult. hem them. Better still put him on a diet. If you loved him you would help him to a better life style. Sorry don't mean to be cruel, but your killing him with kindness, he didn't get to be a big lad by himself.

Just buy adult jeans and hem them or have them hemmed. Jeans are pretty cheap to have hemmed by a tailor.
