It is well known that White Magic is the practice of benign magic, with the definition of magic being acts that can be observed by not explained by current science. Many practices commonplace today were considered magic in previous centuries, so magic is quite the subjective term. Some might say that thermatology, electricity, alchemy, wizardry ,sorcery, are the 5 aspects of benign magic, but I disagree, given that at least 2 of these are not only benign: Wizardry and sorcery.

In my experience, benign magic is intrinsically linked to nature and life, which is why acts of healing, increasing life force, and enhancing protection on immunological, psychological, spiritual, etc levels. Liekwise white magic is linked to plants and animals, which is why many hollywood film that feature white magic are filled with friendly organisms that are greatly feared in general society. I have many other examples to back up the following answer, but I'd best get to the point:

The 5 aspects of white magic are parelleled with the 5 natural elements in the universe: Earth (carbon - solid), Air (oxygen/hydrogen - gas), Fire (flame - plasma), Water (H2O - liquid) and Manna (love - energy/life force). These elements, also called forces, are more powerful than people believe (proof is only now emerging through Dr Masuro Emoto's Water Crystals), and when one does white magic a combination of these forces is harnessed with the permission of those elements. This is why white magic is so far more powerful: it is conducted as a cocreation in concert and agreement with each aspect of the act. it is the pinnacle of making the whole greater than the sum of its parts for the greatest good of all concerned. It is real, right and at rest.
