you can get a tutor to help you or join a study group of other students.

One thing that always helped me a lot and I enjoyed very much was to get a very large pad of paper and lots of colored majic markers and draw out pathways and diagram metabolic reactions and talk out loud about the topic as I draw.

And then I would pretend like I am the instructor and explain the pathways and reactions I drew.
