I think you have to go back and remind your team of how you got there, what you did during the regular season and playoffs to even be in a position to earn the Cup (yes...earn it).
I also think you have to impress upon the team that none of the previous six games mean a thing at this point, it's one game, winner take all. You have to play one period at a time, one shift at a time.
It's going to be a tough road to climb with the momentum having switched to the Oilers, but at least they're playing in Carolina.
I've already made it abundantly clear that I am watching the entirity of this game tonight. Or as my daughter says, "Are they playing for the kissing cup?"

Canes are a tired team and Edmonton is banging the chit out of them and it's starting to take it's toll on the Canes players.
Edmonton has outhit them something like 140 to 60 so far.
Even a none penalty player like Brett Hedican took 2 stupid penalties in game 6 because of the relentess hitting he was taking from the Oliers.
It's look very obvious who is the tired team here given the Canes had to finish a 7 game series with the Sabres while the Oilers where well rested with a nice 8 game delay after taking out the Ducks.

in simple terms is going to expose the guy is conscious his math? nonetheless, that really has to damage once you've performed by all of your video games and locate that its come all the way down to a special team's win or loss that places you into the playoffs. i believe undesirable for the Carolina followers. homestead ice for a month, and now out. :( it really is like the Boston comeback that took the Yankees out at the same time as the Sox received all of it.

Remember Michael Jordan tried to play baseball when he retired from the NBA?? Well, guess what? I hear he's planning to do figure skating now. Sooo, the Hurricanes' coach should ask him to lace up some skates and go out there and play hockey.

First I would remind them about the season, and they beat all teams to get there and then i would compliment each player. Lecture each player and then say YOU GUYS ARE THE CHAMPS THERE IS NO FRICKING WAY YOU CAN LOSE THIS. REMEMBER AS A KID YOU SAID, STANLEY CUP CHAMPION THEN SAY YOUR NAME, THIS IS ****ING REALITY HERE! GO PLAY LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE!
