My wife came home yesterday (yes, on Fathers Day) and told me that she doesn't love me anymore and wants a divorce. Basically there is too much water under the bridge and she can't get past it. I want to keep trying, get counseling, something...but she just wants me to let her go.

We have 2 children, so this is a very painful loss for me. Has anyone been through this? How can I cope with this pain?

Well this is a tuff and pain full situation but let's start from day one and let you ask yourself Why does she want a divorce? 2. Have I been a good husband? meaning supportive, emotionally as financially. (It goes both ways). Most people that are in the getting left(dumped) stage and there not leaving(dumping) stage tend to feel more hurt sometimes in certain occasions. There is a lot you must come in front with yourself before you want to save what you already probably have lost. (there is still hope) Don't change for anyone because you love them that means that this love won't last. change because you realize you're doing wrong change because it is not helping you gain what you want then you can make your partner more happy. It takes a lot for a women to want to leave her husband especially when they have kids and she knows they are going to suffer emotionally in every aspect of the word it affects even in there adult hood due to having personal anger they won't share with anyone. Saying sorry now is not going to fix anything. I suggest that you personally find withing your self what is wrong and fix from the heart let her see that you are compelled to fix the wrong doing and maybe she won't go thrue with the divorce. If she really loves you and you are determine to change honestly she won't leave. I am so sorry you received this notice on Father's Day. I wish you the best of luck.

The only way to get out of it is if you are ready to get on with your life then either
1) Go clubing with your friends
2) Go see a funny movie with a FEMALE co-worker
If your not ready for that stuff then think of all the things you dont like about her.
3) find someone new

GOOD LUCK ( I am soo sorry)

You can only take it one day at a time. Sorry for your loss. Surely you saw some of kind of sign that she didn't love you and if you didn't she can play the part very good. She could have waited until after your big day to do this to you. You can't make someone love you so trying will only make it worse for you.
