You’ve asked this opinion question that strongly compels me to answer, re: this woman who brings us news that we cannot hear elsewhere.
On over 300 stations in North America we get to hear the truth, straight from the source. She is a remarkable journalist, in the true, yet forgotten by some, American way. I’m fortunate to have a Pacifica station where I live and listen daily- in fact, I could use her as is my solitary political information source. I just don’t trust the mainstream media; this corrupt government controls them. Oops! We’re talking Amy. Goodman. Democracy Now! Has become my preferred source for fact in regards to what’s going on in this world we are living in today.
I’ve read her books and learned plenty that I would have otherwise been ignorant about. She has broken news about numerous horrible acts that take place- no secrets, she’s willing to tell the TRUTH-something hard to come by these days. She is concerned about and reports vital issues that we must be aware of- civil liberties being stripped from the US citizens, corrupt government acts and much more.
My opinion- The world desperately needs more journalists like Goodman. She adores this land she lives in and isn’t afraid to let us know what’s really going on. That sounds like what this country was built on. I think more if more people would tune in we may be able to save this Country from those insurgents (bu$h admin) that have taken the US people hostage- (USA).
I
***Side Note-I also respect her as a business woman- she’s paid very close attention to detail and done very well from her staff to her financial situation.

Even with guns held to her head by Indonesian soldiers, Amy Goodman has made it her mission give voice to those who have none, an awareness & perspective that would otherwise go silent by those who have "turned the stones over" though have chose to belly up with the "big boys" and kept quiet (ie:media corruption).By the way, those weapons the Indo soldiers were carrying were made right here in the U.S.A.
She's not afraid to have her voice heard or voice her findings on an array of subjects from the current administration to profiteering through weapons of war to corporate influence and the hypocrisy surrounding today's government. She's exposed what others would prefer we don't hear such as a LARGE oil company's involvement in the killing of two villagers who were only protesting ANOTHER oil spill in their region. She gives substance to her findings with FACTS and by sharing them with the people.
She's neither Communist nor Anti-America/American. She is very PRO-DEMOCRACY and shows it on a daily basis.
