There is a steroid hormone called cortisol (also known as the stress hormone) that your body releases continuously with peaks twice daily around 4-5am and again at 4-5pm. This is why most heart attacks occur in the AM. This hormone greatly increases your body's BP and HR. This is why your husbands pressure is high in the morning and about 12 hours later. Your husband should be on a slow release and sustained release once daily medication to help control these peaks and troughs.

Sorry, there's no quick answer except like others have said you need to get medical attention quickly.
There may be many reasons for you to be having the problem and exercise may be helpful but not without the docs advice.
Apart from not having excess salt in your diet, you may be allergic to something you eat or in your environment.
Also, we may not be the best at sorting out whether we are under stress - ask your friends whether they think you are and why, and see what the consensus is. A lot of people are stressed out completely and don't realise it. If that is the case for you then not a lot will help until you get it sorted out. Meanwhile you need drugs to bring that pressure down . . .

there are many factors that can cause high b/p. not sleeping will my be the cause instead of a side effect of the high b/p. You really need to see a physician. by the way you posed your question it sound like you are in the military ( times) there are some great doctors in the military if you are. The type med you need is something a doctor that has examined you needs to decide. you may not even need a med. please go see a doctor soon. elevated b/p can kill. Good luck.

I agree with the third answer above. But I add some comment. You
must prevent to eat meat which contains much fat.You must eat much vegetables and fruits. You must eat medicines blopress to decrease your BP.and relax and take everything easy because stress can make your BP increase. You should exercise a light sport at home
such as walking around and swimming.or jogging. in very limited time do not so hard.

High blood pressure can be caused by many things..
The commoner causes are:
1.-Being overweight
2.High salt/fat diet
3.Hereditary
4.Organic
5.Drugs- -including nicotine and alcohol
Since you neither drink nor smoke, you might have a genetic predisposition to high BP.lt has been noted that adult Negro males suffer more from hypertension than their Caucasian counterparts and Caucasians suffer more from Myocardial lnfarction than Negroes.
You might also benefit from a low salt, low fat diet
Also, the best exercise regime depends on your age, weight and sex.
The drugs that would enable you to sleep well are available by prescription only,so ask your GP.
All the best...

You are in serious trouble with a blood pressure of 200/140. This level of Blood Pressure will damage your kidneys, maybe cause a stroke or heart attack. You need to get your blood pressure under control at once!!!!! Then you need to work on allowing yourself to sleep at night. A physician should be able to get both of these problems under control relatively easily. Please, Please see your doctor immedicately and get these serious problems under control.

A doctor needs to monitor your blood pressure because your's is too high. You may need medication. You need to omit all salt and caffeine from your diet and exercise 30 mins. everyday.
