Statistically Mexico has a much better chance, a tie will automatically classify them to the next round; Angola on the other hand needs to win. If both Mexico and Angola loose the next game... mexico automatically goes to the next round. Your thoughts???

Table for Group D:

Portugal: 6 / +3
Mexico: 4 / +2
Angola: 1 / -1
Iran: 0 / -4

Last games: Mexico vs. Portugal, Angola vs. Iran.

I don't see Angola winning for over 2 goals over Iran. So their max is 3 / +2 for that game. Angola would have 4/+1 or 4/0 in the end.

I don't see Mexico winning over Portugal. A tie will get them through. I don't see them losing for over two goals. 4/+1 or 4/0 in the end are not unlikely (I suspect a tie is the most likely outcome though).

In goals scored, Mexico is ahead: 3, to Angola 0. In case of a points/goal diff. tie, the next decider is the result of their game. but it ended 0-0. Then, the next result is the number of goals scored. So Mexico also has the upper hand there.

Considering Angola's scoring is lacking, and that Portugal would find it very hard to score over one goal against Mexico, I think Mexico should go to the next round.

It's for Mexico to lose their spot. Mexico should advance and lose in the final 16 to Argentina.
