they only mean what you want them to mean... however traditionally in literature and culture. Red and blood has been around as long as humans have... however United States; green money has only been around a couple years, really.

What does each color feel like to you? I think they've all got a bazillion symbolic meanings by now because their meanings are really personal and different ppl's meanings sorta got conglomerated over time. So don't worry about what someone else thinks they mean, let *your* feelings decide what they mean.
