Yes you can. Let me clarify this by saying that the way you deal with certain aspects of life can be "nice", but harmful at the same time. For instance, say you have a friend who seems to always get in trouble and doesn't really understand why. You see the behavior that creates the problems for them, but because you are 'nice' and don't want to hurt their feelings, you don't say anything. Your inaction is hurting them. People are occasionally blind to harmful actions they take because they have never had experiences in that situation, or because that's the way they were raised. If you truly care about the person, in the kindest but clearest way you can, point out what they are doing and WHY it is the wrong way to handle it. Be sure to have reasons for what your saying; point out consequences, share personal experiences that educated you to the problem your addressing. There is always the possibility that you will lose a friend and that is something you have to be prepared to accept. Hopefully, even if they do cut you out of their life, they will still think about what you said and adjust their attitude towards the situation. You've lost a friend, but improved someones life. Hard trade off, but necessary, and if they are a true friend then they will realize that you did it because you cared.

You can be too nice when you always sacrifice your rights and wants to others, when you become a doormat or a martyr. Too-nice people often find that they are left by the wayside because nobody else will worry about their needs.
There is no honor in always giving and never having the courage to take something for yourself. It's best to limit being nice with a healthy dose of selfishness and self-respect. That way, people will appreciate what you do for them more, because they'll know it's truly meant, and not the habits of a martyr.
Woo...sorry for the rant. Comes of a long time living with family members who are too nice and too unhappy too much of the time.

Yes i HAVE THAT PROBLEM. Everyone calls me nice but exes are the worst for taking an advantage over it. My present ex-girlfriend thinks it ok to call me any time of day and even invites herself to parties and functions i am going to with me even though we have split up. She is just using me and I'd rather be horrible to her than nice as you end up being treated like ****.

Without a doubt. Always go with your gut feeling. It's like the saying "If something sounds to good to be true" it usually is to good to be true. I suppose that there are some real angels out there, just be careful
