Every time you crack your knuckles, punish yourself with something that is important to you (e.g. burn a 10 dollar bill or donate 10 dollars to charity, slap yourself, have someone else slap you, etc.). Make sure your friends enforce the punishment. For every hour or day (whatever you want) that you don't crack your knuckles, reward yourself. This is known as operant conditioning, where by using positive reinforcers and punishment, your body learns what behavior elicits punishment and rewards and changes its behavior accordingly. Make sure you keep doing this for a while, until you haven't cracked your knuckles for a month or so. Gradually, the frequency of your knuckle-cracking will decrease.

Actually it isn't bad for you at all. What people say? About how your knuckles with get bigger? Isn't at all true and that sound you hear? Is a cavity simply moving that it between the bones. It's releasing air pockets and is doing no damage to your hands at all. Although your more likely to get arthritis when you get old.

I had a problem with biting my fingernails for the longest time. I stopped because I put a rubberband on my wrist and everytime I went to bite my nails, I'd snap the rubberband. It's not torture, it makes the bad habit of yours conscious to yourself so that you remember that you want to stop. Try it...worked for me!
