What is the going rate for a good live in nanny? What are the benafits of having a live in nanny?
We have a 1 year old daughter. She is always getting sick from other kids at day care. Her pediatrician suggested we keep her home. We are thinking about getting a nanny.

My friend is a live in nanny. The family pays her $600 a week. She is responsible for the welfare of the child only. She doesn't have to cook meals for the family or clean except for make the child breakfast and lunch and pick up after her and the child. She is part of their family, if they go on vacation, she goes on vacation. At Christmas she has gifts like everyone else under the tree. They pay for everything for her and pay her the weekly wage.
She has evenings off from 6pm on. She also has weekends off. Basically if the parents are home, she's off. She loves it, loves the kid, and loves the family. It's an unbelievable opportunity for her.
