As in what direction did the wind blow towards, so that the tree could be saved?

When the tree was burning, but was saved when the wind changed direction. Then the wind must have blown the opposite way of the burning tree.

I'm taking a guess that this is a riddle, not a serious question, so;

The wind was probably blowing in, before. The tree would be saved when the wind blew out.

Yeah, I know, silly answer.
