This is my 1st time using this so I dont know if I put anything in here. I called in on Sunday to go to a water park. Our work policy is for every call-in you need a Dr's note. What is an excuse I can use at urgent care this afternoon? I can't use sinus problems. Thanks!!

My employer doesn't need the exact illness, just that I was seen. SO to the person that said I was busted... that is not the case. I have been through this before I just needed a good excuse because every other time I called in.. I was actually sick.

Note just has to say illness.

However I want the Dr. to actually believe me.

Tell the doctor that you had acute diarrhea and you blew the toilet off the floor.

Hope that helps

Good luck

Unfortunately you will need a doctors note that says the correct thing. If it was a sinus problem, like in one answer, its not a good enough one to call in sick. If you SAY food poisoning you need a doctors note that says that too! You willnot ever get a doctor to write you an excuse for anything other than what you actually saw him/her for. It would fraud, and malpractice. The doctors will not put their llicense in jeopardy for your sake. You can't make up excuses either. I have a feeling with the sunburn or little bit of sun you got will give you away. You're going to get busted, that is why the employer has already made it perfectly clear, either a doctors note or no job. Sorry

you could say that you had an axiety attack...but then maybe people might start to worry about you...you could say that your back gave out during a workut....or that you caught a bug and had a temp of 99.9 or higher but took some ibuprofen and now feel tons better...esp after some herbal remedies! you could also say you had no way to get to work cause your cars alternator belt gave way and you couldn't start your car...but now its been fixed cause a friend your brother or whatever helped to fix it...hell howz that ?

Tell them you had eye problems and could not see yourself coming into work that day.

Or you could have called in scared and said"I am afraid I will not make it in."

I think the diarreh thing is best, no one likes to talk about it so it goes away fast.

It is a breech of confidentiality for the physician to say anything other than you were seen and the date.
It is called HIPPA. It is used to protect pts privacy

I usually use stomach illness... nausea...cramping... that type of thing because there really isnt anything they can do for you, but if you tell them that you missed work because of it they will be willing to write you a note.
