Do not voice any grudges in your letter. Have a person proofread it to make sure there are no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.
Offer to help train whoever your replacement will be. If that is not possible, leave that person a file explaining where everything is and welcoming to the company. Remember, it pays to be professional. Not only do you keep your dignity, but you never know what the future holds and you should always network and create a reputation as a fair person who works hard and respects others in the workplace.
Oh, I almost forgot...print your resignation letter in quality paper and keep a copy. I know it sounds obvious, but I some people just write whatever on a piece of paper or, even worse, just say they quit and storm out. Not very professional and it might come to bite you in the future, since you never know who knows who.

Put in your two weeks with your current job while letting the other job know that you want to accept their position. Train the next person in those two weeks and then you're well on your way to the next job! Hope this helps!

I would give them a month to 2 week notice and see if they would like you to train next person;reason being that the comapny will always give you a good rapport to other companies and if you ever decidee to try and work there again it will show you left on good terms. The notice should be given in writing and you keep a copy as well.

Common courtesy is 2 week notice. At my last position I gave 3 weeks and I was able to train my replacement the last week before I left.

First, make sure you HAVE a second job to go to. Then you will give your employer your notice to leave. It will be up to your employer whether you will train your replacement or not.
