Make sure you only buy the soft contact lenses. They wont scratch your eye. Wash your hands thoroughly before putting them on and taking them out. You may tear when applying your contacts, but thats normal. It will take some time getting used to it. Always carry eye-droppers (I recommend Visine). Never ever let anyone touch your contacts, germs spread just like that! Don't even allow anybody to try them on, that can cause ulcers, bad idea :( Also one last thing, when cleaning them with your solution, dont use the product RENU...there was a recall on that product which caused bacteria. So use another product, such as: Bausch-Lomb (sold at Walmart). Hope this helps, and good luck!

Contacts are easy to manage....like anything else once you learn to use them properly they are a breeze.

You need to be careful not to sleep with them in even if they are the type that you can....at least not all the time. Also never, ever remove your contacts first thing in the morning if you have slept with them in. Your eyes will be dry and removing the lense if it is adhering to your eye may also remove a layer of tissue from your cornea....this happened to me so I know what I'm talking about!! Very painful and very scary.

But contacts are wonderful if you take care of them as it is recommended that you do....just remember to have another pair handy and you should always have a pair of glasses for back up as well in case of an eye injury.

Good luck with them!!

IF you clean AND dispose of them like you're supposed to you'll be fine.

I personally, have problems - because I see best using a certain lense that doesn't breathe, and I need to wear them 18 hours a day. The doc told me my eye-balls are growing additional veins because my eyes cannot breathe. So I MUST switch to glasses. But I've gone years like this, AND I wear them too much. So basically - TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!

The fake eye-color ones, I've HEARD (I don't use them) can cause some problems - but that was in the old days. Now I don't know.

With proper care and cleaning lenses are easy to manage. Easier still are the disposable ones. I've used daily disposable then switched to 2 weeklies. There are solutions now that clean and store so you're not messing about with 5 bottles of solution every time you take them out. Your optician will be able to advise you as to wether your eyes are suited for them or not, not everyone is. I know in UK it costs 20 quid for that consultation, not sure about USA. It is easier to get eye infections with contact lenses but I've worn them for over 3 years and as I've always taken care of my cleaning etc I've never had one.

In this day and age...no. I started wearing them 30 years ago (I am showing my age, huh?) and used the hard contacts. The makers have come along way. I find them very easy to work with. But, you need to follow directions and keep them clean or you'll end up with an infection.

I would see your optician to see if there is an underlying reason for your watery eyes, to me it sound like you do have very sensitive eyes. I wouldn't see any reason not to be able to wear contacts for sensitive eyes once your optician can rule out any condition that causes your eyes to water so much, it must be really annoying! Hope i helped, best of luck! :-) let me know how you get on! x

along with keeping them clean as it was mentioned, use a good brand of contacts that the doctor prescribes and dont change solutions often and never use the off brands!

No just make sure you take them out every night and do not wear the same pair for more weeks than you are supposed to or it will begin to warp your eyeball. (personal experience).

not at all if you use them daily, the only thing that is difficult is learning how to stick you finger in your eye but you get use to it after a while.
