My husband gives me a hard time about my spending habits but he spends money on unnecessary tools and things.

Instead of spending $200 on a purse, wouldn't you rather spend less, then you would have more money to actually put in your purse.

It depends!

If you can afford it, there shouldn't be a question about it. If your budget is tight, a $15 purse and $19 shoes from Walmart should be fine.

Also if your work really requires this - like working as high profile lawyer or meeting customers all the time, it might justified too.

Tools are more important then a 200 dollor purse! You could get a purse at Wal*mart for much much less.

If you earn enough to support that type of spending, there shouldn't be an issue. But if you are spending outside of your means, that is what leads to problems.

If you can afford it, no. if you have 7 kids and live on welfare and have to choose between them and your shoes, then yes. Try talking to your husband about setting a limit for each of you per month or something.

In my opinion it's kind of vane and materialistic to spend that much... but I'm a single mother and have to watch my spending.

Maybe you could agree to have "discretionary spending" in your budget, with each of you allowed to spend it on what you want.

i agree with the first girl,, not wrong but stupid.. maybe every once in a while its alright.. but not all the time.. its such a waste of money.. you just have to learn how to shop.. you dont have to buy expensive brand name items ...
