This question has been asked many times, so I browsed some of the answers. I guess my conclusion is that there is "not a divine choice", but then the question came to mind: What could someone do to become another person's soul mate? If an "ideal match" does not exist, could we learn to live to a higher ideal without sacrificing our individuality and personality?

I was expecting a few more answers. I am sceptical of the "soul mate" idea. But I think it's possible to make realtionships better, and perhaps even ideal. But I have often found "perfect couples" to be unrealistic in their expectations. I wonder if both individuals would say they have the "perfect relationship", and if so, what would test it.
I think what makes a successful relationship is self sacrifice. Could someone have the perfect relationship if only one were willing to sacrifice, or would it take both?
