It really does depend on what you plan to study and the possibility of doing an internship within the area. If you're planning on studying something that is more medical or business focused, then I would stick to UT, but if it is education or liberal arts then go with BG. The west end of Toledo is probably the nicest part of the city, which is also where the university is located. BG is OK, but nothing exciting...plan on driving to Toledo to do any major retail shopping. The roads are worse in BG in the winter time since it is more rural and the snow drifts can become a nightmare. My brother went to UT for engineering and he seemed to like it. I have friends that went to BG and they seemed to like it as well. It really depends on your plan of study and your comfort level when you visit the university. I would really recommend that you visit both and talk to someone from the department in which you study. You'll get a much better feel and you'll probably feel better about your decision as well.

Well, I went to BGSU, so I'm biased (I loved it). But I think which is "better" really depends on your interests and also where you feel like you "fit" best. Have you visited one or both? The Toledo campus was nice last time I was there (a long time ago), but it felt like campus was kind of isolated, being that downtown Toledo is kind of dumpy and there isn't much to do. BG is definitely a college town, with plenty going on within walking distance of campus. I made good friends there, had a good mix of large and small classes, developed good relationships with professors, and had an excellent on-campus job in the English Dept. there. I highly recommend it.
In terms of academic ranking, I don't know which is higher; you'd have to check out the latest US News & World Report for that info.
Good luck!

It depends on your major. I've heard that as far as academics BG is better in education whereas Toledo is better in business. BG is a college town and there isn't much there besides a Meijers, Walmart, and a tiny mall. Toledo is a bigger city with more to do, but still not that exciting. To tell you the truth if I had to choose, well I would choose neither.

I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said. I'm not sure how it is at UT because I go to BG, but if you choose BG, there's almost always someone with a car who's willing to drive you to Toledo to do any shoping/whatever (as long as you're willing to pay gas money). Entirely too many people have cars on campus, which is another problem in itself.

The city of Toledo is a dump.
While there's not much else in Bowling Green except the school, I think you would have a much better time there.

BGSU!!!! You're safer and you don't have to worry about getting mugged. If you still want to visit, Toledo is 20 miles away, but I've lived in BG for 4 years and never set foot in Toledo.... yuck.
