I have a male cousin who has lost a significant amount of hair. i believe he may be taking drugs. could this be a cause.

Drugs, other than those prescribed, and even then - look out, could be a contributing factor but so can a lot of other things.

Depends what kind of drugs, but it is possible. Actually more prescription drugs will make you loose hair than illegal ones.

most drugs will not make you lose hair. i'm pretty positive the only drugs that make you lose your hair are the drugs they use for chemotherapy.
