I like Edgar Allan Poe..."The creator of Mystery" I consider him to be extremely intelligent, the greatest!!!...and like many of my favorite writers...he plays with you, he tries to enter ones psychology in such forms and ways, and the way he does it..."The tell tale hearts" is one of my favorite stories...very dramatic, and scary!!! I like his works specially because he implies every scene, and every words like a path to insanity. Somehow yourself could go insane just from listening and reading his work..."the raven"!!! oh!!! very scary too...I belive it's even more frightening than "The tell tale hearts" why? because of the fact that sombody is knocking on you door, and who is it??? he doesn't know. So therefore, he is playing with your sanity and your brain which can transform a knock on the door into horrible and God knows what.........I consider him to be the master of the "macabre"

His two favorite works of mine are: "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Pit and the Pendulum."
Especially in "Pendulum," Poe's description of what it is like to find your way in an unknown room, without having the use of your sight, is expertly written. It still chills me to think of what it would be like to be strapped to a table and have a pendulum-type blade swing closer and closer to you...
