Having grown up in the area, Melbourne is very established. However, Vero Beach is new and upcoming. Palm Bay was going someplace in the late 80's early 90's but I think it has slowed. It depends on what you like.
They are all close to the beach and attractions. But Melbourne and Palm Bay are probably a little less expensive to live.

I would choose melbourne because its closer to a real city (orlando) and a good place to live (kissimme) and also because i went to vero beach and palm bay looking for a house to buy and the price doesnt match the amenities of the place in both cases and vero beach looks destroid by the hurricanes. Melbourne is 45 minutes away (at most)from orlando international airport, which is really international unlike palm beach which is farther and not so international or nice.

All three, you better have a nice income....
Vero is gorgeous, Palm and Melbourne are nice as well, but Vero has to be the overall prettiest.

It depends on what your budget is!!! Melbourne is still underdeveloped and had really nice beaches, without being a cow town. Vero is better, but tres expensive. Do your homework....come for a visit!!!!!

Stay as far away from Miami as possible. The state gets nicer and friendlier the more north you go! Vero Beach is very nice...
