Exactly why bother. Simply put it is none of their business if you are or aren't having sex. If you have had sex with one or 101 people.
Remember people are going to tell it the way they want to any way.

If they won't believe you don't bother telling them. It really doesn't matter what they think and being a virgin is nothing to be ashamed of so you shouldn't worry too much about it.
