In refernce to the previous answer first: The U.S. was not luck, in fact we should have one the match, if not for bad calls against us. Now i think we should do good against Ghana, it won't be easy. After all they did beat the #2 team in the world.

Now for those of you that put down the US for there "goal" against Italy well if you forgot we did put one in the back of the net though McBride was obstructing the veiw of the keeper.

I have high hopes for this game. I think Ghana is a good team. They did play well against the Czech Rep. but the the Czech were horrible in that game. Ghana played off every single one of there mistakes. The exact same thing the Czechs did to us.

I think with the moral and team play they produced on Sat. That USA could rally a win. Ghana is talented but not as agressive. They will be drained by the second half. As to where our guys are use to this type of struggle. We will be missing Pope and Masteroni but they are replaceable. Having some fresh legs and new chemistry between team players will help in the play against Ghana. Ghana is missing there top player who thus is the heart of the team. I hate to say that one player makes the team but he kind of did. He was the play maker.

USA can win this game. We shall see on Thurs.

I also hope that Italy beats the Czechs.

Actually, for those of you who have asked, "Have you been watching the World Cup?", I return the question. What Ghana did against the Czech's was amazing. However, may I remind you that had Gyan not scored at the 1:12 mark in the game, it is unlikely that the match would have gone that way. Gyan is out for the U.S. match, as is their third best player. While the US will certainly miss Pope and Mastroeni, they are more replacable. Johnson hasn't played yet, remember.

That said, Ghana deserves all the respect in the world. I think, however, that they spent their energy in the previous match and the US will prevail 3 -1.

usa will beat ghanabut in my view usa will have an avantage ghana will think the usa is not good let down there guard and Usa will be better than what ghana thinks and ghana will not be ready for this well not during the Ist half mabey the second but usa would most likely have like 2 goals i think the score will be 2-0 cause keller is an awesome goalie

The Ghanaian team appears to be the strongest African team to enter the cup this year, and they have been playing like they had something to prove. They lost their opening game mostly due to mistakes rather than lacking skill--like that defender softly kicking the ball back to his keeper, only to have it picked up by an opponent who was then left 1:1 with the keeper.

Let's face it folks, I'm all for rooting for my country, but the USA is not a football nation. I have had my son playing football and I coached for several years. Even from the kiddie age, the attitude is not one that is conducive to raising future strong footballers. In other countries, people play football in the streets the way we play basketball on small courts with metal nets (or no nets). They may play barefoot on tar streets or on pure dirt fields with makeshift goals. And they develop ball-handling, quick passing, trick dribbling and juggling, and precise heading and shooting like nothing we're able to do. To the contrary, our players learn through clinics and camps and years of official playing experience. That does not amount to the skills necessary to make a strong showing in an international competition. And all this shows in the US's play style. Long passes (which players from either team could field) and fast running alone will not win matches. Until the US improves on its game, it will continue to get knocked out either during the 1st round or the top 16.

So to answer the original question, US will be that bag of stale chips. Ghana's players are stronger, quicker, their passes are more precise, they work the ball slowly down the field--making sure they keep possession rather than trying to slam down the field as fast as possible. Anyway ... Ghana.

Allez Brasil!!!

"like stale potato chips"... nice analogy. If the US wins I don't think it will be by much by the way, have you seen the USA v. Czech match or better yet the Ghana v. Czech match? You might want to watch those before you place any bets on the US.

Ghana is for real; and heads & shoulders above the US ; face it. Did you see the Italy match, they have yet to score a goal. Ghana stomped the 2nd ranked Czechs. The Czechs made the US seem like a little league team. Pray for a tie,and hope for a little help from Italy.

Have you being watching the World Cup at all?? did u watch the Chech. Rep. against the U.S.A. and then what Ghana did to the Czechs , Ghana have better players ,better tatics , better management and are fitter than the Americans , And i can wait to see this match and see the Americans crucified , Turning the match against Italy into a battlefield may have worked against a team like Italy but against what i see as the biggest and physically strongest team in the world cup the gud aul U.S.A are in for a very embarrassing nite and as you like to bring politics into fooball (as against Italy) your players had better not dedicate that match to their troops otherwise there could be a lot of soldiers going AWOL in Iraq this is going to be a real men against boys game this i cant wait. I dont mean to sound anti american but its about time you realised that this isnt your sport and i have to congragulate corazonbrazi.. you are the first American that finally gets it i enjoy American sports like basketball and your American football but under no circumstance would i ever concider to know anything about these sports so in short Americans keepyour opinions on football to yourselves and when u finally get why yuor nation fails in each world cup then you will produce teams worth your high praise

No, USA won't crush Ghana, but they might win. If USA can win, and Italy beats the Czechs, then they will advance and should lose to Brazil in the next round.

But all four teams will be fighting for their lives, so anything can happen!

Group E is surely the "Group of Death" for WC 2006.

After watching Ghana decimate Czech, it's now obvious that the US team will be sent packing from the world cup by the Africans.
