I just think that it is a very disheartening thing, that often the most successful actors have a parent or other relative who is in the business, and gives them their first big break. It just makes me feel like there's no hope to succeed for people who have no family members in the business.

It's not what you know or how good you are - it's who you know and who you are. It sucks, which is why I've never wanted to be in the music/tv/movie industry as anything other than a writer.

To make you feel better though, those kids will never know if they got a job because of their talent or because of who their parents are. Think about that for awhile. You should also know that anyone in the business, no matter how happy and successful they seem, always have a lot of stress and anxiety over things like body image, popularity, etc.

It sounds like you want to get into the business. You should really think about why you want to do it. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather be rich than famous.

There are not too many Egyptian celebrities that annoy me. many that pop out of Lebanon do however. @Amr Adel Imam IS the main suitable!!! And he's so anti-severe government that i do no longer even comprehend the variety you ought to end he's a kiss-up. additionally, I met him quickly as quickly as and he's not boastful in any respect. he's a UN embassador and lively in cinema/theatre yet while something he shuns his action picture star. He does not like getting interest while out in public. @each and every person who does not like Mohammad Saad Katkoot had be ROFL. sure his performing is very the comparable around the board yet I enjoyed that action picture :D basically my opinion ya3ni...

Nope. Some are successful, some aren't. Because of some of the successful ones we have some really good actors.

Michael Douglas - son of Kirk Douglas
Gwyneth Paltrow - daughter of Blythe Danner
Kate Hudson - daughter of Goldie Hawn, and singer/comedian Bill Hudson

Just to name a few

I do feel that way. Because when you look at it...all the big celebs have a family member in the same business if not another part of the business. I mean, look at Jessica and Ashley Simpson. I know that Ashley was an "actress" before, but to be honest...I didn't even know that Ashley and Jessica were related until she "sung".
Then you have Britney and her sister...Jamie I think. Among others. It's not a really fair game. But the part that really kills me is when they denies the fact that their family helped them get into the business, and if it wasn't for that, they wouldn't be where they are. And plus, that makes them so spoiled, and then when they meet someone that knows what hard work is...they act as if they are so much more than them.

It doesn't bother me. I see it as totally normal. Many, many children in and out of show business "follow in their parent's footsteps." Children often grow up admiring their parent so choose the same profession...they live it every day via their parents so it becomes natural to want the same career.

Teachers often raise kids who become teachers, cops raise future cops, actors raise future actors, etc. It is just life.

Yeah i think its bad coz some people have to work their socks off to get where they are today in the showbiz career and then the children just come along and get straight into it. It's unfair!

Yeah. Joan River's daughter Melissa: she's not good looking, not funny, not worth putting on any program, yet she's everywhere.
GO AWAY MELISSA.
