iPod question:I checked out the apple site and only iPod, nano, and shuffle are available--why? is mini worse?

why don't they offer the iPod mini anymore at apple? i know there are plenty at ebay and amazon. is the mini the same as the nano? does it hold more? what do you guys generally think of the mini? what do you think of it in comparison to the nano and the regular? is it worth it? how much can a mini hold?

sorry the for the millions of questions, but this will be really helpful to me. thanks.

also, i'm not interested in any video things, i just care about the music, i can watch videos on tv or on my comp.

The Mini was replaced by the Nano. The Mini is just fine, it has similar storage (I'm not sure what the storage capacity is) as the Nano but it uses an old black and white screen and a hard drive. The Nano has stepped up to a higher resolution color screen and flash memory. It is also much smaller than the Mini. You can probably find better deals on the Mini than the other kind of Ipods as they aren't made anymore and not as popular. They still hold and play music just like any other Ipod.

Okay, here we go.

Apple does not make Mini anymore because the Nano came out. The Nano replaced the Mini. Because the Nano came out, no more Minis are made.
The Mini is the same as the Nano, but the Mini usually holds more. For instance, a Nano may hold 1000 songs while a Mini may be able to hold 1500. Otherwise, the Mini is exactly like the Nano (except the Nano is much smaller).
I personally think that Nanos are a rip-off. Just my opinion. Nanos are not a lot different than the Mini, and in some ways worse: Nanos are more expensive, more likely to break, and hold less songs. I think the Mini is better.
I think the Mini is one of the best iPods out there. It is very reliable and fun to use. The Mini is really awesome, to say it shortly. I have a blue Mini, and i am so happy with it. It is amazing.
I think Regular is better than Nano. It holds way more songs, it is more likely to not break, etc etc. You know, all that jazz. I'd say, if you wanted something like a Regular, get a Video. You can play all kinds of videos on your iPod Video, so you get music AND videos. It's really cool.
A Mini can hold 1500 songs, usually. There are 4GB Minis and 6GB Minis.
All iPods are worth it, just some are better than others. I think all iPods are just simply amazing. =)

I dont think you can buy a new mini anymore and I wouldnt suggest it. I have a mini that I bought a little over a year ago and it is outdated. The mini holds 2G...around 1000 songs. The new nano can hold up to 4G. Also the new iPods have video capability and the mini does not. The mini holds songs only!! The nano...which is soooo what I would recommend...is smaller, holds more, and will play movies and music videos! Even though I already own a mini I really want a nano...much better for the money. A mini will suit your needs if all you want is a mp3 player that plays music only and will hold 1000 songs only. I would buy a nano.

When apple came out with the nano, they stopped manufacturing the mini. The mini isn't "bad", it was just replaced by the nano. You can still get them from other distributors who still have them in stock, but Apple doesn't sell them anymore. I don't have a mini or a nano, so I can't give you a comparison, but my husband loves is regular ipod.

Nano. The nano with the aid of fact with the shuffle you won't be able to view the track and it might get annoying to maintain clicking the button to locate the music you like many times back. and additionally in case you in user-friendly terms decide to pay attention random songs the nano has a shuffle mode so with the nano you immediately get a shuffle and extra variety of colorings to decide for between. For colour i'm girly so pink lol pink and black are basically as intense-high quality I also have a video so i are not getting the colour decision unfortunatly. additionally my first ipod replace right into a nano and in case you get the nano or shuffle be very careful to no longer lose it they are truly gentle so actual effortless to overlook.

Shuffle is... like 1GB dont have screen.... its like a common USB MP3 player. I don't like it.
Nano is almost same size with color screen, perfect for music, but can't play videos... still I don't know if later it'll be a Firmware upgrade to view videos due its color screen. 2-4 GB
Mini is like the normal iPod but with 30 GB i think U can see videos and listen music... but... answering ur question, due its size... I rather get a normal iPod 'cause U get more storage almost the same size (not portable) and hace the same thing...
If want something portable, Nano is perfect if not... a normal iPod, but no way Mini or Shuffle.

they stoppd making minis cause they basically sucked. they had horrible battery life and they were freezing all the time. i JUST got my nano on thursday and im very happy with it. its a great price compared to the video thats $300 dollars. and for the shuffle, itd drive me crazy not being able to get the song you want or look at a screen, for an extra 50 bucks you can get the nano that has a color screen.

The mini used a hard drive similar to the larger iPods. Apple made a move to using flash memory which is not subject to some of the problems of hard drives. You can figure on getting about 200 songs per GB.

I have the 6GB mini. I don't think anything is wrong with it. They just started making improved models. The newer models are a better because they are thinner and there are the ones with video on them.
