Yup, he goes into the AOL server using an ordinary browser. Probably www.aol.com and then login using his own ID. He might have had to set this up beforehand; I don't know.

BUT

If your son has set his AOL account to download his messages onto his own computer, then the ones he has already downloaded won't be there when he looks at the account on your computer - only the new ones will be there.

You could try to persuade him to ditch AOL; they're horrible. They operate a "white list" so only if you're on the white list can you send email to him. That tends to kill not just the spam but a reasonable number of good messages as well. But hey ho.

BTW i wonder how many people on Answers know what a Glesga Bhoy is? Joke: how do you know when you're in Shotts? when they're throwing snowballs at the Orange walk...

I work for BT Broadband Technical Helpdesk, and as long as your PC is connected to the internet, you can view anything you want!
Tip of the Day: Abandon Outlook Express totally!
Use your webmail server to access at all times.
95% of our customer calls regarding email are due to OE!
Reasons: OE and Outlook are prone to malfunction and neither will access the Bulk Mail folder on the server, only the Inbox.
Apart from that, depending on the properties settings in OE, all messages in the Inbox may be removed to your hard-drive. Think of it this way:
Your PC gooks up and needs a full format of the hard-drive - oops - all the emails in your OE folder are gone, man!
Hope this is satisfactory information for you.

simple answer, no. However, by setting the server (pop &smtp) to his server, he will see his email. If you have Outlook Express and Outlook, why not set one up to your server, one up to his????
