I've used some before that accept cash, but that was in pretty common areas. Most will require you to put a credit card on it in case you don't show up. But I've used the one I used most often so many times they don't require it anymore.

The best thing to do is just call them up and ask. Maybe you could use a friends card or something and they would accept that. But each company is going to be different, so the best thing is to just call around.

All the companies I've heard of do require a c/c to be able to rent a car. It is incase you wreck the car in an accident and do a runner. You may be able to get away with not having a c/c with a not so reputable company but that would make their cars pretty unsafe.
Maybe get a c/c use it for the car hire then cancel it afterwards. Or ask the company if you can use someone elses c/c (with their permission).

Most will need a credit card so they can take any money owed for damage to the car. Cash is the only alternative, but I feel that in this day and age, you are unlikely to find one.

Hi, There are companies out here that will do it providing that you put down a cash deposit or a debit card. The best thing to do is contact them once you get out here or do it through your tour operator
