I agree. I think they are playing like they think they have already won so they are just on cruise control - which is so disappointing to watch whether you are a fan or not. I am starting to get sick of hearing about how great Brazilian footballers are. We all know they are a great footballing nation AND although other countries may not play with the same flair and improvisation does not mean they are less passionate, less skilled or less enjoyable to watch - so far the Brazilians although winning have missed the mark so far and even if they do pick it up I don't want to hear about another world cup for them. It is boring in any competition or league of any sport when one team always wins.

I support England but if they don't win I would happy be to see a team which has not previously won - Portugal, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Mexico, Spain... And it would be great to see an outsider such as Ukraine, Craotia, Ghana or Ecuador win - I doubt that will happen but it would be great for football.
I would also like too see non-traditional footballing nation get into the semis like S. Korea did 2002.

I think I agree that you are quite wrong in the reasons that Brazil might lose. First and foremost, if your country is not strong enough to beat Brazil, then you don't deserve to beat Brazil. If Brazil keeps winning, thats puts the pressure on the other teams to just get batter, not quite playing. Plus, Brazil may not always have a superstar loaded team. For some of them, this is their last World Cup. Other teams are starting to have great talent coming up. Take the U.S. for example. While never known for their soccer power, are they not improving with leaps and bounds? Granted the MLS is not quite as competitve as European leagues, it is definitely improving. The amount of youth getting involved in soccer at younger ages is increasing. Next, I agree with some of the earlier analysis of brazilan weaknesses. The stars, just aren't what they were. I think Argentina can beat them again if given the chance. I completely disagree with popularity of the World Cup going down if Brazil continues to win. The World Cup is the World Sport, and I think will only get more popular, as many countries not as in touch with soccer, such as the U.S. begins to become more aware. With all this said, I do believe that Brazil will win again!

I too am sick of Brazil winning the cup.

I didn't see the game against Croatia but Brazil looked flat against Australia, particularly while Ronaldo was up front. It's a shame they won that game; they didn't deserve to.

Let's hope Brazil is punished for their inability to entertain us with "jugo bonito" in the second round.

why do you think that they are over confident? it is the press that talks about them all the time and you may be tired fo hearing about them and make assumptions.

they are players like the rest and they go to play and win like the rest.

croatia outplayed them you say, but they lost.
australia did well but they lost.

that is the difference between the best and the rest, you win when you do not play well.

please wait when they play a really good side and see them motivated, they are the best in the trade we have to acknowledge it and they play really well againts top sides.

i am not brazilian and do not support them but i know about football and like to see the best playing for the sake of entertainment and sports.

do not feel good because of someones errors and instead become happy when your team wins.

good luck with the team you support.

Brasil is my favourite team so of course I want them to win again. In watching them over past tourneys, it appears their style is to take it easy and do just enough to get by until they face higher ranked teams (as someone else here said). As I remember, Ronaldo did not even play during the opening games of WC2002, like they were saving him until they needed him or something.

It's easy to think the Brasilenos are arrogant. Like someone else said, the media hypes them up and talks almost like their winning is a sure thing. On top of that, they demonstrate such playfulness on the field that it seems they're overly confident. One of the Mexican announcers during Sunday's game even commented on one of the player's constant smiling as if to say "I can play well even while laughing." But I think they are just jovial and fun-loving rather than arrogant.

I will say this though. I think they were overly confident during WC98 and did not take France seriously--which led to their defeat. This is not to say Brasil is better than France and should have won, but their carelessness did contribute to their loss. So they'd better not do that this year. There are many strong, even surprisingly strong, teams in this years cup and every game must be played as if it's the championship.

Allez Brasil!!

Brazil doesn't want to waste it's energy now. They will play their best...I hope so.
But I agree that the last matches were not very interesting even
Brazil is a team that knows to make show. It a strong team.
After the final you should put here another question : "How you taught will win the cup?" and then we'll see.
Bye!

I couldn't agree with you more. I do not want Brazil to win at all. I'm sick of them. I'd love to see Italy, England, or some underdog team like Spain win it this year.

If Brazil is not playing their best, they shouldn't win the World Cup. Would rather see England win it this year.

I totally agree. I think the best Argentina and Spain so far have looked the best. Brazil has not played well as of yet. I don't see them geting past the quarters.

They might be confident but that only motivates them to play. And although they did not play well this year, they still won both of their games so that means every team they played totally SUCKED! but, no i am not sick of watching them win because everytime they do the people there become so happy, i love to see the smiles on their faces.
