What is ONE issue today that you feel could be improved/changed by writing a law, reform, amendment etc?

I would work on crime. I would make sure that crime does not pay. The first thing I would do is make the jails as uncomfortable as possible. The mattresses would be thin and on the floor not a bed frame. The tv's would be taken out. The thremostat would be set at 80 degrees in the summer and 50 degrees in the winter. Meals would be plain, nothing fancy. Inmates would not be allowed cigarettes. The only book they would be allowed to have is the Bible and maybe Dr. Seuss. In short I would make it where when a person got out of prison they would straighten up their act for fear of having to return to prison.

id pass one piece of legislation that fixed a bunch of things, like they do now, try to lump it all together into one fix it all. first, dump the messed up tax system in favour for a flat tax, then the economy would skyrocket, you think china is making dough now, imagine what would happen if businesses in the us didnt have to pay tax \m/
next, repeal whatever amendment it was that made the senate elected, and make it appointed again.
third, something to the effect of making government smaller, and people responsible for their own actions. eliminate unemployment and welfare right off the top.
fourth, i like that loser pays idea, and then it would fix the aclu problem right up,
fifth, start drilling in alaska for oil \m/

I would pass the "Downsize Government" act. I would reduce the size and power of the federal government by 15% immediately and reduce it by a total of 40% over the next 5 years.

If a president insisted apon going to war, I would make it a law to have a special vote for all Americans to vote for or against the war. And neither the presifdent or congress can over rule that vote.

I'd make it illegal for elected politicians to publicly insult and demean our military personal during time of war. It would have the duel benefit of getting quite a few Democrat Congressmen locked up, and shortening the length of our military conflicts.

Elimination of the IRS (and all income taxes, estate taxes, etc) and go to a federal sales tax - the Fair Tax.
No more marxist progressive taxes and class envy attacks on the rich.

Loser pays:
When a lawsuit is filed, the losing party has to pay legal bill of the winning party...and if the suit is deemed frivulous, the plaintiff and his attorny should have to additionally pay one third of what they origianlly asked of the defendant for the harrassement and mental anguish.
Say I sue you for a million dollars, if jury decides that the suit was frivulous to begin with, I and my lawyer togather should have to pay your legal fees and additional $333333.33!

Refuse benefits to anoyone who refused 2 job offers. I cannot stand the unemployed sponging off the workers. OK, some have medical reasons, and that is fine. But those who are capable of working have to.

The first that springs to mind is the legalization and endorsement of gay marriage. Banning it is a human rights violation, that I suspect we'll look back on many decades from now and wonder how we could have been so stupid.

I would ban all Bush's from ever running for any office including but not limited to dog catcher. It should have been done in 1988
