What you want to do is go to cosmotology school and get a degree. No one in the "real" world will even look at you without your having professions training and are certified. A lot of these schools also help place you as well. Yes, even though you know what you are doing now, unless you want to sell Avon, Mary Kay, Jafra, you have to have had Professional schooling. I went into a beauty supply store at the mall, a real classy one, that had a Help Wanted sign in the window. They said that I looked like I had a license and asked where I went to school. I told them I sold Avon and was a Mary Kay representative but that didn't matter, they wanted someone with schooling. And that was just a silly little store. If you want to get into the "business" you'll have to had professional school and graduate. I'd say 2 years of schooling!

well if u can get a degree in hair styling and dying and a masters degree for makeup artistry and a bacheolers degree in skin care at a beauty school, and in high school or colledge u can get a job at an aafes store where u give women makeovers, then when u get out of colledge you could get jobs at fashion shows, then put together a resume and then you could apply for a higher job.

Go to the department stores that have make up counters. MAC is a great one to try. Lancome, clinique etc. They send u to school for training. Also, there is a make up school of some sort in southern california that trains people to do make for stars. Look in to that. Good luck with ur career.

network, network, and network. Ask questions of other people in the business. Some free advice. You might have to get special training and get certified as well. But, the reality is the more of a "good word" people put in for you, the better are your chances.
