Your puppy should be fine most are relatively simple and easy to fix.
The vet will be able to take care of your pet.
Neutering is a very simple thing. My vet does it on the tail gate of her truck right at the farm. Very easy.
Hernias are not really to badmost times they just resew the muscle overt he defect and they are done.
I am sure your puppy will be ok.
Maybe sort of tired for a few days but back to normal soon.

It would depend on the size of the hernia, how bad it's strangulated and if there's infection present. Most hernias are harmless. You puppy should be fine.

My cat had a hernia when she was younger. I took her to the vet but he didn't seem to concerned about, just told me not to pick her up because that could irritate it. After time it faded and never came back.

If your puppy's hernia was possibly fatal, the veterinarian would of told you.
Surgery in itself, holds a risk of complications.
