I live in Ohio, but I have a very good answer for you..
I work in a nursing home, all nursing homes have activity departments and love to get donations of books and other reading materials to distribute among the residents.
People tend to forget about the elderly population and they dont always have the means to obtain books and stuff on their own..
So find 1 or 2 in your community and just drop them off..
It will make many a persons day and they will be more than thankfull for your donations..

Gee, wish I was there to peruse your books! Try one of the city libraries. Many of them re-sell used books to make money for the libraries. In our town, "Friends of the Library" have a bookstore upstairs. This past year they made $15,000 and donated it to the library for new computers for the public. Magazines, calendars and encyclopedias can be donated as well.

Any school would be happy to take them. Sometimes the books are used for art projects. Try a vet hospital or home and see if there is interest. If not, ask them for suggestions. Most charity/hospital type institutions are well networked and will guide you to another interested party.

Most hospitals would be glad to receive your books. Call the hospitals near where you live/work and ask what the procedure is for donating them. The patients will enjoy the books.

If there is a Veterans Administration Hospital in your area they will be happy to have them.

I believe halfway houses will also take them as well as second-
hand book stores.

Barnes and Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks or Books-a-Million. that's going to be in the "youthful grownup" area. also that's going to be on the library. Ask a librarian to assist. Twilight is so customary, they are effective to have it.

you could donate them to nursing homes, hospitals or thrift stores...they would be sold so if you want to make sure no one has to pay for them, Check out health care facilities. They would appreciate it.
