those white south africans probably wont find it beneficial to call themselves african americans in this country.
regardless of where they were born and raised, because their appearance is white -- they still have that package of positive preconceptions to help them out in society.
these 'names' that be label groups of people with no longer carry only implications of a persons' physical appearance-- they carry notions of experiences with and among society.
if they would really like to -- sure why not .. it is a 'free country' as the playground saying goes. but if they WANT to .. thats another question.

Yes why not? that's what they are. i am black i don't consider myself an African American. They have more right to use it than I do. I was born in America. Hell....I'm American. No matter what.
