Two things--I recently wrote a French essay, and there's a paragraph where I said, "J'ai voulu que je ne voulais pas y aller." The teacher said it was badly phrased, and I should rework it. How would a French person say this correctly?
Also, what preposition follows "Je me rappelle"?
Online translators won't work with this level of French--only French speakers. Thanks.

First of all, the sentence that you wrote in French would be translated back into English as "I suddenly wanted that I wasn't wanting to go there." It doesn't make sense! What were you trying to say? Here are a few versions corresponding to what you might have been trying to say:
Je ne voulais pas y aller. - I didn't want to go (there).
Soudain, j'ai voulu ne pas y aller. - Suddenly, I wanted not to go there.
J'espérais que je ne devrais pas y aller. - I was hoping that I wouldn't have to go there.
J'ai compris que je ne voulais pas y aller. - I realized that I didn't want to go there.
As for "je me rappelle", it is followed by the preposition "de" just as "je me souviens" is, but only when followed by a noun:
Je ne me rappelle pas de son numéro de téléphone. - I don't remember her phone number.
Je me rappelle du moment où elle est arrivée. - I remember the moment when she arrived.
Je me rappelle des roses que mon copain m'a données. - I remember the roses that my boyfriend gave me.

I am not sure what you want to say
"I didn't want to go" would be " je ne voulais pas y aller"
" I wanted not to go" would be " j'ai voulu ne pas y aller"
For " je me rappelle" it depends what you remember, if it is a thing use "de" ex : je me rappelle de mes vacances( i remember my holidays).
If it is an action that needs a full sentence to describe use "que" ex : je me rappelle que je dois telephoner ( i remember that i need to call on the phone)

What are you trying to say? "J'ai voulu" - I wanted to "que" - that
"je ne voulais pas y aller" that I didn't want to go there
Your missing a verb.

i may be a young girl but i know french and ill tell u one thing... ur teacher was right. ur missing a verb buddy. haha. and the second question baffles me.
