You can use winrar to unzip zip files (or to open compressed folder). 7zip or winzip are other softwares you can use for the same purpose but winrar is by far the best one. All these programs work in a very similar way: you just have to right click the file to zip or unzip any folders or files.
If you don't want a trial version don't worry. The trial period of winrar never ends so you can use it for free with no limitations.
With WINRAR you will be able to open all the type of compressed folder like file .zip, .rar, .7z, .7zip .iso, .tar, .jar etc... that's the main reason why I recommend it.

A RA file is a file that has been compressed to reduce the file size and make in download faster. Go out a download a copy of winrar (rarlab.com) and use it to open the file. Inside you will find one or more files that are the show. Becasue a RAR file can hold anything, I can not give you specific instructions on what to do with the file(s) inside the RAR file. If you need help with them, please repost with the name(s) of the file inside.

rar is associated with the winrar archives, which is files that has been made smaller by compressing them. You will need winrar to extract the archive, you can download it at www.winrar.ocm or www.download.com.

Just click on it and try to open it. Windows will tell you if it can't open the file and ask if you want to use the "web service" or some such message. Say yes, and it will open a webpage telling you info on what you need to open that file.

Winrar is a very good program to unzip files and to decompress a bunch of other formats. You can use also 7zip or winzip for the same purpose but I believe that winrar is the best option. All these programs are very similar (you can compress/decompress files with a simple right click).
The great things is that winrar is free (you can download the trial version that never expires) and it can open all compressed formats: .zip, .rar, .7z / 7zip, .iso, .tar, .jar etc. (much more than the other programs).
