An orchestra plays under the direction of a conductor, and a band marches under the direction of a band marshall. So the answer to your question would depend upon whether the musicians were sitting down or marching around.

Typically, it's an "orchestra" if it includes bowed string instruments and a "band" if it doesn't. But that's a pretty loose generalization and not consistently applied. There's nothing wrong with just calling it a "group".
