I searched, but I just found where to buy the books for lessons and a sight that taught 90's guitar. I'm not a complete beginner, but I'd like to find some tips.

Teach yourself. It'll sound cooler when you're famous.

First thing they need to do then is start putting out CD's again that are worth the $20 or more they're expecting people to shell out for them. I haven't bought a CD of new stuff in years because most of them have maybe 1 or 2 decent songs and a load of crap. At least the older albums had cuts that were worth listening even if they never made it to airplay as singles. I can see why people could get bent out of shape...but is that any different than recording a movie on my VCR or Tivo at home? Do I need to pay Jim Carrey for taping "The Truman Show"? Do I send the royalty check to Vince McMahon and the WWE because I tape Monday Night RAW? It's just an issue of musicians whining when I see most of them doing just fine. They're not exactly starving and can fill that garage with 6 Bentley's or Cadillacs. And if the record industry wants to bring people to their way of thinking, going after a single mother to the tune of a fine of over 200 gr doesn't quite do that. Put out decent music again and people will buy it. Simple.

I typed Free Guitar Lessons into the search and came up with many addresses you can check out.

Below, you will see one such address for free guitar lessons plus you can type guitar chords and one of the first ones has over 3 million chords and tunings and tuners for all the stringed instruments.

If you are a young person, check out www.guitarsnotguns.org and if they have a chapter in your area, they give away free guitars and people volunteer to give free guitar lessons too plus they have battles of the bands and other interesting activities. I am a guitar player myself and play in finger style like Chet Atkins. I didn't have the benefit of all the modern ways to have guitar lessons both paid and free on the internet. I taught myself by trial and error and by playing and listening and trying to copy recordings until I was able to do it, and then I played in a few bands when I was younger. I hope you have success in trying to learn the guitar.

Just an idea, but when I was learning guitar on my own, I found a few good instructional videos/books at the library. Check out your local library branches if you are trying not to spend money.. Good luck! 8)

I tried too. If you can read tabulature, you can go to tabuniverse.com but you won't get any audio examples. I would go to the music store and go ahead and get the instructional DVDs. They show you how and you can hear it. I've used them and they helped a great deal. If Joe Satriani put out some useful DVDs I would pay a million dollars... if I had it.

The best solution is self teaching... put a CD on and go along and experiment. That is what I do and it seems to work rather well.... you can listen to how to play or what to do, however if you can't play all the instuction in the world would help

Why try to reinvent the wheel. Go to your local music store and find a teacher.
