I'm assuming that you are either in or going into nursing school? Having been there, I can tell you that observation skills are just that. Observation skills. You need to be able to look at a patient and note signs and symptoms. For instance, you should know that someone who is post-op and has a fever and chills has an infection, and you need to call the doc. Open your eyes and really pay attention to your patients.

The skills you get during nursing school in which you observe certain procedures, routines, etc. Not quite the hands on nursing yet...Like watching a class and getting points for it. Hope this helps.
