We're currently treating fish for Whitespot, but we've noticed finrot like symptions on some of the fishes fins. Although the Whitespot treatment is working, can we apply the finrot treatment while still on the whitespot treatment?

If "whitespot" is Ich then yes, but not with the same steps. The way to treat ich is as follows:
1)An ich medication
2)Increased heat ~85 with #1 (Note some fish can't take this much heat for long periods.)
3)Salt 1 teaspoon per 2 gallons. (Table salt is fine contrary to myths about iodine.) Note that this much salt is bad long term for most freshwater fish.
The way to treat fin rot is:
1)Do a water change of 50% or more.
2)treat with both an anti-fungal, and antibiotic agent.
Note that this means you'll need 3 different medications, and need to do the water change 1st. If some fish have ich, and some fin rot. Consider isolating one in another tank, and treating them there.

yes you can but what people don't know or just don't pass it along, you need to remove the charcoal from the filter while treating the fish as it gets rid of the medicine and that is why so many times the fish dont completely heal---take out the charcoal while treating and medicate them. If you have algae eaters or snails with no scales, make sure the meds are safe to use with scalesss fish

What kind of meds are you using? You might want to think about treating them with salt, it treats both.
