It is usually caused by a firewall. But it depends on your internet provider. If you have to log in to get on the internet there may be a MAC address that the ISP is reading from your network card.

I suggest re-asking the question with more details. What is your Internet Providers name. Did they provide any equiptment ( if so what, and list model and model numbers.) Do you Log in or are you always connected.

With that info we should be able to determine the cause and solution.

they have peanut butter on their heatsink instead of thermal paste.. this is a huge problem these days with computer manufactuers. your question is the most common type of problem associated with this cheap way of bonding your cpu to heatsink and fan. heres what you need to do.. get some bread.. wipe it all over your heat sink fan.. the peanut butter will bond to this and then they will be able to connect.. i first heard this and said.. hmm.. but i had the same problem and this actually works. after you get done.. pour milk all over your memory modules.. this doubles their speed. good luck.. hope this helped you. vote me for best answer.

you have to explain your question, do you have wireless accesspoint or simple lan??

However if you have wireless then that person need key to connect to your network, he also need same workgroup to join your network.

if you are at simple lan, then he have to same workgroup to work in your network, also need password to connect to other computer who have password protected.
