Before each practice perpare your muscles for soreness by stretching and heating them. After your practice ice the muscles. The only way to get through the soreness if you already have it is to keep doing the things that got you sore. If you stay away and avoid doing that one thing that got you sore, then go back to it a week later you're going to be sore all over again. The idea is playing through the pain.

First off, you should stretch your muscles right after you have worked them. Then an hour or so later stretch them again but because your muscles are 'cold' don't overdo your stretch. Also, you don't want to just heat them or just cool your muscles, you want to do a 'hot/cold' shower which really helps....you start with a luke warm shower for 30 seconds with the water in direct contact of what hurts, and then switch to a mildly cold shower for 30 seconds...then repeat this process as long as you wish and gradually you will get hotter and hotter and colder and colder with the temperature

Icy Hot muscle rub works good.
Heating pads help. They help to increase blood flow to the area.
Have you tried Advil or Aleve? Take 2 Advil (also known as Motrin or Ibuprofen) or 1 Aleve.

Massage them, and maybe a warm compress, on for 20 minutes, off for 20 minutes, and repeat for an hour every couple of hours.

take an asprin, elevate your legs, go for a walk or even a very very slow run. Stretching and massage can help too. Be sure to keep drinking enough water too....
