If he is really serious try to find an agent. If he cannot get an agent then try looking auditions and stuff up online. Acting is not as easy as it looks. I have been in 16 stage productions, 3 commercials, and I have been on the connan o brien show, and I have not been discovered yet and I kinda feel like I'm no where in my acting even though I've done all of that. So acting is a hard bussiness. A lot of rejections. But if you really want to be an actor you will find a way to go on auditions and do your best to get the job. GOOD LUCK!

If you simply want to get into acting, audition. There are community theatres and theatre groups almost everywhere and they are almost always in need of men. Also, many universities and colleges open their auditions to people in the community. If you already have any experience, you will know to prepare a monologue and esume. If you don't have experience, you ought to have two different one-person pieces from plays: one comic and one dramatic (not tears, but serious) which you can perform at a moment's notice.
If you want to move immediately into professional acting, start in unpaid acting and work your way up. It takes a lot of stamina and persistence. You can pick up some of the actor's craft in classes, which will help, but the primary thing you need is experience. If you volunteer backstage for productions, you will be able to see how they are put together; you may also learn how you want to treat the people who support a production.

I don't see what your age has to do with getting into acting.
If you mean *professional* acting, again, your age has little to do with it.
More than likely, your location and your network will get you acting work. That is, if you're, say, in NYC and you are hooked up with a casting director, there is more likelihood that you'll book acting work than if you're, say, in Gahanna, OH, and you don't know anyone who owns a video camera.
Granted, these are big generalizations, but hopefully they reflect how acting professionally depends on factors more than just your acting talents.
Now, as for your acting talents, there are many ways to "get into it." Of course, the easiest that comes to mind is to take an acting class. I'm sure someone in nearly every town in the U.S. has someone who can advance some kind of acting theory in a class, so you'll want to ask around.
Community theater is an EXCELLENT way to start getting into acting. It usually has a very cooperative setup (rather than competitive), it builds great friendships, as well as great connections. If you can't get cast in community theater, you can volunteer in some capacity usually, which is another way "in" which can influence getting cast.
With experience under your belt, likely over time you will have developed performer confidence as well as a general network of people through whom leads on work may emerge. There's a time (waiting) component to acting; if you're impatient and need to be famous immediately, your expectations are unrealistic and your endeavors will likely prove frustrating. However, if you make the investment to stay in it, the rewards from time to time will be more pleasurable than crack cocaine. :)
The internet may prove useful for learning about acting classes, but the internet is not where you go to learn about acting. Acting is something you DO, and if you can't DO it, you aren't really learning it. It is also a discipline, so you need to work consistently at it, to keep your skills up. You may find you're "talented," understanding the principles of acting fairly readily, or you may find you need some time to understand them. Age may play a part in your ability to uptake some of the principles of acting, but I should think if you keep an open mind, they will come easily to you.
Those are some brief thoughts. I wish you luck in finding some classes or performing opportunities. :)

Like everyone else. Start with acting classes. If you live in a major city it should be easy to locate classes, or, call the community college, they often teach acting. It will take a few years, but, if you're dedicated and talented, you may be able to get some work after a few years of classes.
Good luck.

My cousin is 36 and he just got into acting himself. He has been on Sex & the City and a few other shows and movies. First I would get some headshots done and then ry out for some local casting calls in your city. Maybe join the local drama club in your town to get some experience. Good Luck!

You're never too old to start. I was in acting school with a doctor who'd always wanted to be an actor- he started out at 53 or something. But do hurry up!

All I can think of is, you can start answering ads. which come in your Penny saver for actors. First, you need to make yourself visible in the market and then you'll start developing your contacts and then you can find your own way through!
