If I have a two gallon gas can, and my weed eater requires a mixture of 32:1 gas and oil, how much oil do I need to put in the can to mix it properly?

Couple of correct answers.

32:1 means for every 32 units of gasoline, you need 1 unit of something else, in this case oil.

So for 1 gallon of gas you need (1/32) gallons of oil.

1/32 gal = 4 oz.

So, for 2 gallons you need twice 4 oz for oil....8 oz.

most of the time the oil container will tell you how much to add to get the ratio you are looking for. generally, if you use the same oil brand as your weed eater, then you can use one small bottle per gallon to get the correct ratio. other wise, you need to look at the oil bottle to see how much you need to add. hope this helps

32:1 means for every gallon of gas you need 4oz of oil mixed in, so for two gallons you need 8 oz or 1cup
