A magnet exerts a magnetic force, this is transmitted by photons, the particles which make up light although in the case of a magnet they do not lie in the visible range.

Gravity is said to act likewise through gravitons. These particles are yet to be detected. Again the General theory of relativity says that gravity is caused by the way massive objects bend space-time like a rubber sheet.

In my university we have a 30 meter in diameter tank--100 meters tall. The tank constricts near the bottom to 28 meters. It is filled with heavy water. The tank also has water vents. The bottom and the sides of the tank are covered with sensors.Suspended above the tank is a lead sphere 29 meters in diameter. We drop the sphere and see a bolt of gravity.
