I personally don't think he did. Even though you might think I'm nuts, I suggest you look at www.justiceforkurt.com and really read what's there. He had more than triple the fatal dose of heroin in his blood, and managed to put the needle back in the box and close it, then blow his brains out? not possible.

If you read about him - his life was really very tragic.

He was given to his Aunt at an early age because his mom couldn't handle him. He was given pills to control his hyperactivity during the day and pills to make him sleep at night. Pills, pills, and more pills. From an early age - he was taught that drugs were the answer.

In high school, he was bullied and picked on by the jocks. He was a social outcast. He kept his writings in a series of journals and finally turned to music as an outlet.

He wanted people like him to relate to him, but instead, his music became super-popular and all those jocks and cheerleaders that had been so cruel to him suddenly just 'loved' Nirvana. By becoming mainstream, his music suddenly represented everything he hated - popular, trendy, the 'cool' thing to do.

The marriage w/Courtney Love was one series of disasters after another. I wish I could remember the whole deal, but he went to a mental institution shortly before he died and he escaped. He called CL but she was wasted. They were both so wasted. She was one of the few people he really, really loved and when he needed her most - she was too strung out to be there for him.

In the end, he was alone. Really alone. Such a sad, sad life. Taught from an early age that drugs were the answer. You just wonder what would have happened if one teacher or relative would have taken the time to really get to know him instead of shuffling him off to the next person.

As far as suicide goes - most suicides committed by people under 15 are because of bullying.
For those over 15 - depression, drugs/alcohol is almost always involved. Kurt was no exception.

Nirvana and Kurt Cobain are really cool. He was high when he did it or at least thats what I heard. Its a real shame that he killed himself.

Some say Courtney Love had him killed. There are some weird things she did and said that day. I don't buy into conspiracy nonsense but this I almost do.

I think a combination of drugs and him not liking all the attention ultimately drove him over the edge. Very sad, he was extremely talented.

Why would he get drugged up and shoot him self, wouldn't it be easier to over dose? I think Courtney Love had him killed.
